53 imagesAl Mozell was a combat cinematographer in WW II during the final year of the war. Traveling with the 71st Infantry Division he shot 16mm movie film to document the war for the Army. Some of this footage was released to the press. This small group of still photographs were taken by Mozell for his personal use during the closing months of the war. Perhaps the most moving images were taken at the Gunskirchen Lager Camp, which was liberated by the 71st. To learn about the operation, see the linked brochure that was written by one of the officers in the Battalion http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Holocaust/Gunskirchen.html

34 imagesRecently, I unearthed a couple of boxes of black & white prints made roughly between 1975 and 1985. It turns out that I photographed quite a few musicians, primarily folk and acoustic performers as well as talent from the classical and jazz worlds. I've scanned these prints and you can see them in this little gallery. There are photographs of anonymous street performers, festival headliners, coffee house regulars and players who can fill a big hall. Some day I'll scan the original film for better quality.
